For our upcoming week, I have two requests, if you please:
1. Prepare your letter learners with 2-3 Pp words for our word list, p-p-pretty p-p-please:) , thanks!
2. For Pp week, I thought it might be a nice idea to put forth a Prayer Project...may I please ask of you and your child to discuss and select one of his, her or your family's favorite prayers to share with the class on Tuesday, February 16th? Please write out the words to the prayer and include its title...you may do so on construction paper or choose to get creative and compose the words to your chosen prayer on a cut out heart or prayer hands shape or decorate your page with stickers or pictures...Please Do your best to have your child print out the words to his/her fav prayer choice (great writing formation and sounding-out practice)...if this is too much, then perhaps you could write out the prayer in hi-lighter or pencil and your child could trace over? The prayer could be one you recite/say/pray aloud or in your heart or together as a family, a night-time prayer, a morning offering, a home-made prayer or a song-prayer, something we sing at church or in our classroom or in your homes...entirely up to you and your kiddos. Please have your child practice reciting and/or singing his prayer choice prior to Tuesday's "Share a Prayer" Presentation Time. Should be very special and inspiring stuff...also kind of a good way to lead in to our upcoming Holy Season of Lent which starts up of course on ( Ash) Wednesday, Feb.17th.
Additionally: We will continue with lessons on our Presidents, on the importance of prayer and preparing our hearts for the reflective Lenten Season, on basic addition and subtraction, on letter Pp and # 16...we will learn about the many functions of the Brain in Science, enjoy a Peace-themed Mindfulness with Yoga Class, a Coach Pop Session and Sports Day featuring the sport of basketball...of course there'll be much more, just sharing a few to several snippets of our week's plans and trying to keep things briefer than usual since after all it is Valentine's Day and a long Holiday weekend...thanks for your preparations with the above, any questions feel free to send an email my way. Take Care, everyone. Stay safe, keep healthy and well and have a lovely and loving Valentine's Day. Happy Hearts Day kiddos:) Remember to "do" an act of love or kindness for Mom and Dad today, ok? xxxooo
