This past week (Gg Week) was simply glorious in Classroom # 5!! This is, hands down, the Greatest Group of Guys and Girls a teacher could Hope For/Pray For... Ever!!! Our Students are so Incredibly Caring, Compassionate, Intelligent, Hard Working, Highly Spirited, Spiritual/Faith-filled, Funny and Fun, Eager to Please, Devoted Philly Sports Fans, Amazing Yogis, Superb Singers, Virtuous, Awesome "Pray-Ers" (our Morning Prayer Circle is so inspirational)...and then some!!! We have So "gelled", we are a Classroom Family and together...well, we aspire to Soar in ALL AREAS of Educational Growth: spiritual, emotional, physical and academic. We So Get this, got this, Good!!!! YES!!!!
Have you seen our Geometric Structures currently on display yet? We learned a bit about Geometry for Gg Week and had the Best Time putting together great looking Gumdrop and Toothpick Creations!! Wow is an understatement!!! If I may hi-light a few: so, our very own James Moseley's "Flying Car", Addison Norton's "Tree House", Pratick's "Cube" and Quinn Daly's "Rocketship"... are truly, well... Outstanding!!
We certainly enjoyed learning about the manifold contributions of our Veterans and the Branches of our Armed Forces this week...Mrs. Reusche's Extra Special (from her heart of hearts, which is Tremendously HUGE)... Craft Design of Heart Shaped USA Flags of Appreciation crafted by our/yours truly, my Sweet 16... were a tremendous hit!! My father was truly touched upon receiving this special project ( An Act of Kindness) from my students...16 red, white and blue heart-shaped flags now adorn his studio apartment dwelling, Assisted Living Quarters, at the Quadrangle--just plain...awesome stuff!! God Bless our Pre-K-Plus Patriots and our USA Veterans. And God Bless our Erin Reusche!!! You Inspire us with our ever Positive Attitude of Gratitude, Mrs. Reusche!!! (so blessed are we!!)

Monday, 11/13-Please prep your letter learner with 2-3 Hh Words for our Word Bank; it's Hh and # 8 Week; Religion Class with Sr. Kathleen; Homework Books go out today; Smart Board Video from "Inspire my Kids" Video on Gratitude--"Showing Gratitude on Veterans Day and All Year Long"--post discussion and sharing session; Scholastic Magazine Videos and interactive games on History of the Pilgrims and Native Americans viewed; begin Thanksgiving Costumes and related Crafts, Stories, Songs, etc. throughout the week and next.
Tuesday, 11/14-Religion Class with our Sr. Kathy; Social Studies Lessons through the week on the First Thanksgiving and what Life was like back in the 1620's; Thanksgiving Art and costumes; Smart Board Lessons on Thanksgiving continue.
Wednesday, 11/15-Please Return Homework Books by No Later than Today ( a few h.w. books have been coming back 1-2 days late, Do Kindly be Mindful of the due date and thanks so much for doing so); Thanksgiving Art-work and Costumes, Literature, Songs, etc. continue. (pizza day)
Thursday, 11/16-Mindfulness with Yoga is today, dress in stretchy, comfy clothing; Thanksgiving and Gratitude themes continued.
Friday, 11/17-PLEASE, dear Families, DO JOIN US in Our Lady of Assumption Church Building at 9:30 a.m., today, for a Beautiful Thanksgiving Prayer Service, should run for about 30 minutes in length...I am Counting On (as are your sweet choristers) 100 % PARTICIPATION from our Parent Families!!! A Favor: Please Do Dress your child in her/his "Sunday Best" for our Morning's Prayer Service...Please do pack a Change of Clothes for our usual Sports Day Friday come the p.m.!! (sneakers mandatory and Big Water Bottles too!) Sr. Kathleen has So Beautifully Prepared our Children for this prayer occasion--So Kindly Make Every Effort to take a touch of time to BE With US in Church this very lovely Morning, okay?! Wait till you Hear our Children "Raise the Rooftops" off our Church Building--i Kid You Not!!! They are sounding AMAZING!!!! Sr. Kathy, you Rock!!! We are ready, we are prepared, we are...Assumption Academy!!!
Quiz Day and Flag/Parade Day and, of course, it's Sports Day Friday!! Sports Prayers, Team Cheers n' Chants, Stretches and Warm-ups...follows: Virtue infused Games of "Jump the River" and Touch Football Scrimmage and a Tug of War, round of 3,--Girls vs. Boys (we love to be competitive!:) should make for a highly spirited work out, and one fantastic end of our week!! (soft pretzel day)
Friday, 11/17-Parent and Teacher/Staff "Friendsgiving" Social @ Assumption Academy, from 7-10 p.m.--this is Such a Lovely Evening...delicious Foods, beverages (b.y.o.b.), lovely autumn decorations and lights, and of course our Parent/Family and Faculty/Staff Community Company--we shall chat, share, enjoy lovely music in the background, eat and drink and be merry!! PLEASE PARENTS--Make Every Attempt to Attend this Lovely Gathering---it's truly Special!! Believe me!! Can't Wait to See you All on this lovely Occasion... to chat and share and enjoy a little "down time" for us ALL. Yes!!
Monday, 11/20-Our School-wide Thanksgiving Celebration; starts at 10 a.m., runs through about 10:30 a.m. in our Gym/a.k.a., Social Hall--Mrs. Havey will be sending out a Sign Up Genius very soon...kindly sign up to send in a food or beverage item or paper product...Or , consider coming back to the Classroom to read a Holiday themed Story or Conduct a Game...You Must Have your Clearances to help us either down in the Gym for the School-wide Feast And/Or...back in our Room for post Holiday Activities/Stories/Games..Thanks Ever So Much!!! Afternoon Movie Viewing and Fun Thanksgiving Related Activities to conclude our day. (no new letter or # or Homework Books out again until our Return post Thanksgiving Holidays).
Tuesday, 11/21-Religion Class with Sr. Kathleen; Thanksgiving related games and activities, stories and songs, a Pow-Wow in Room # 5, just as our Native American Friends conducted back in their day--so much festive fun/spirit/music/dance...Yes! Dismissal for ALL this Day is at 11:30 a.m.; In-Service Day for our Faculty/Staff and a Protecting God's Children at 2 p.m. for all those parents interested in continuing to achieve their Clearances.
Wednesday, 11/22 through Sunday, 11/26---No School, Our Thanksgiving Break...Classes Resume on Monday, 11/27/17. Have a Beautiful, Family, Friend, Faith and Football-filled Thanksgiving Break, Everyone!!! You are All The Best in my Book...feeling ever so entirely Grateful...for ALL that You Do...day in, day out, for your dear daughters and sweet sons!! We are So Blessed at Assumption Academy...to have... the Bestest. Families. Ever. !!!!
