Hello and a Happy Mother's Day to you ladies...hope you are enjoying a lovely and extra special day!
Please for our week ahead:
This week we finish up our Alphabet Study (Zz words for tomorrow please). During the next few weeks, we shall review letters Aa through Zz, work on sounding out sight words and sentence strips, and we will make up word rings as well. Math Class on patterning, sorting, counting this week; Social Studies Class on Patriotism; Science Class on Wellness; Mindfulness with Yoga Session, self-esteem themed and Sports Day Friday featuring track and field events. Smart Board Session on Sounding out Sight Words with Jack Hartman (he's got fabulous you tube learning videos for kids). Religion and Music Classes with Sr. Kathleen on Monday, Tuesday and Friday and Coach Pop Session on Thursday. We will begin work on our very special End of the School Year-Booklets too! (only 4 weeks remain, my goodness how the time has flown!)
Save the Dates Please:
Friday, May 31st--9:30 am in the Pre-K-Plus Classroom--we invite all parents, grandparents, etc. to Join Us for our Class Pre-Kindergarten Plus Graduation Celebration!! Plan to stay with us for about an hour, this is a Just Must!! Kindly reserve the date and time. Thanks, more to come!!
Wednesday, June 5th--Schoolwide Closing Ceremony and Carnival Day--please join our staff and student body for an end of year slide-show, some songs and prayers and a fun-filled Carnival of games, snacks and prizes. This is our Last Day of School.
Our Pre-K-Plus Class will be going on a field trip to Haverford College on Wednesday, May 29th. This is a wonderful day for our kiddos, one of the best days of the school year, as I've been told by former students :) We will participate in an outdoor Track and Field Meet to start the day, take a hike on the Campus' lovely Nature Trail, have a picnic lunch and make our way to a play area that features the coolest climbing tree ever (!) and a climbing statue, swings, slide, sandbox, etc. Mrs. Welsh has hired a school bus for us--for some/most, perhaps the first time riding on a school bus--also very exciting stuff--we depart 9:30 am and return by 2:45 pm. 2-3 parent chaperones would be very helpful. Let me know if you are able to join us. Permission Slips will be coming your way the week of the 20th of May, just wanting to give a heads up on the above-mentioned dates.
Thanks, parents, for ALL that you do !!! I am so grateful.
I wanted to let you know that Miss Brianna and Miss Amanda will be helping our class out on Mondays and Fridays, your children know and love them both--two amazing young women--feeling blessed and grateful to have them complete the remaining few weeks with us in Pre-K-Plus. (May I share that Miss Amanda was a student of mine some almost 20 years ago right here at OLA?-- #fond memories).
How bout our Phils pitcher Eflin last night with a complete game?! Awesome sauce:) It's "do or die" tonight for our Sixers!! Hoping and praying that we can capture Game 7 (in Toronto, oh my my) and make it to Round 3 of Playoffs!!! Let's Go 76ers!!!!! Enjoy the games--Sixers on at 7 pm--our kiddos could probably watch the first quarter of perhaps half...feeling in the spirit!!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone :) Yours Truly, Mrs. Lisa Rizzo
