Here now is a daily breakdown of plans and extra special activities we shall be undertaking for our remaining days of school:
Tuesday, 5/30-Religion Class with Sr. Kathleen; Yearbook Round-table Discussions continued; Math Class on Skills Review; Smart Board Viewing from web-site Inspire My Kids--Videos on our Virtue of the Week--Great Sportsmanship; Scholastic Magazine Lesson on Summer Safety-"Splash" video on water rules and interactive games.
Wednesday, 5/31-Hooray for our Track and Field Trip Day to the lovely campus of Haverford College--everyone has returned their Permission Slips and the $10 Bus fee, thanks so very much, all! Your child arrives to school at our usual time-8:50-9:10 am--we "board the bus" at 10 am Sharp! We arrive by 10:30 am to the Campus of Haverford College and shall walk over to the track and begin with a Track and Field Meet, co-directed by Coach Fran Rizzo and Nina Rizzo. Events include a pre-event stretch and some warm-ups, mini-hurdles, 40 meter dash, baton-relay race, javelin, shot-put and long jump. Exciting stuff, right?!
Following the track meet, we shall make our way onto the Nature Trail and walk to the Duck Pond (we are no longer permitted to feed the water fowl, so no bags of duck feed are needed--we shall enjoy looking for giant goldfish, geese, mallards, frogs and such!) ...we will have a picnic lunch--please pack a brown bag lunch for our trip and large size Water Bottles for the track meet --also, send your child in with his/her Backpack--each student will take his backpack with him/her for our trip--he/she will place their lunch and water bottle inside. To conclude our day, we will make our way to a playground area with swings, slide, sand box and...the coolest Climbing Tree! (kid friendly:) Approximately 2:15 pm, we shall ask our parent drivers (so many of you have volunteered to attend--I am truly grateful!) to help us with our commute back to Assumption Academy--we plan to return to school a bit before dismissal, as we would Very Much like to Support Mrs. Farrell's "Alex's Lemonade" Fundraiser...kindly send in a bag of coins for the Lemonade Stand with your child by tomorrow, Tuesday, 5/30--we'll have our donations all set to go this way!! The weather forecast is looking Awesome for Wednesday, 5/31--Just Do Remember to Apply Sunscreen for your student-athlete prior to coming to school--looks like a sunny, breezy day forecast, high of 80 degrees-YES!! Dismissal as usual, 3 pm. Our students are all set--we've been practicing each of our events during the past few Sports Day Fridays!! We just cannot wait ... for what should be a very fun and memorable day for our Pre-K-Plus Students!! Get Ready, Get Set, our Pre-K-Plus Class is..."going to College!!"
Thursday, 6/01-Our Class with have Pizza Day today , no need to pack lunch, just a healthy a.m. snack, if your child has paid for our last pizza day! Thanks, Mrs.Tolan for accommodating us! Mindfulness with Yoga Session, dress in comfy clothes please; Coach Pop Session, wear sneakers today! Yearbook Work continues-finishing touches, yes:)
Friday, 6/02-Hip, hip hooray for Parade Day, Quiz Day, Soft Pretzel Day and...Sports Day Friday!! We will infuse the Sports of Soccer and Basketball (our class' Top 2 Favorites) with the Virtue of GREAT SPORTSMANSHIP! "Jump the River" and "Touchdown" --our top 2 favorite P.E. Games--played too!! Music Class with our dearest and gifted Music and Religion Educator, Sr. Kathleen.
Monday, 6/05-Regular Schedule--full day of school; Art Project for our Yearbooks; Smartboard Videos and Games--"Time to say Goodbye"-- from Scholastic and Inspire my Kids viewing of video and virtue favorites!! Our favorite Centers--students' choice--for the afternoon.
Tuesday, 6/06--Full Day of School today--ALL Pre-K-Plus Parents, grand-parents if able, our finest of Families--we Cordially Invite You to Attend our Very Special Graduation Ceremony and Party--it's a just-must, all!! Diplomas, Yearbooks, Prayer Circle , Patriotic Songs--hopefully a Sweet and Sentimental Send-off for our Awesome Students, The Bestest Class Ever!!! Starting Time is 9:30am, we should conclude by 11:00a.m. at the very latest!! Following our Ceremony in our Classroom # 5, we shall have a Party for All--I will ask one of our Homeroom Parents to send out a list of foods, beverage and paper items needed...thanks everyone!! Following our in-class celebration, our students stay till 3 pm. Kindly Dress your Child in his/her Sunday Best Attire for the Graduation Celebration for the morning...Do Pack a Change of Clothes for the afternoon, as we shall have a "play for the rest of the day" pm fun session:)
Wednesday, 6/07--Our Final Day of School is today: it is CARNIVAL DAY at Assumption---right now, my understanding is that our Students of Assumption arrive to School at 9:30 am with their Parents/Families on this happy morning...teachers will be happily manning Fun and Game Booths for our Families and our coolest kiddos!! Our particular Class Booth, a Basketball Shoot !! Prizes, a Dunk Tank, Popcorn, Foods, Games Galore--what more could you ask for on the Last Day of School?!!! Students depart late morning with family at the conclusion of this fun-themed festival celebration!
Please be assured, dear Parents, I will be e-mailing you a-plenty with reminders during our remaining week and a half as the most Fabulous Ever Pre-K-Plus Class. Kindly Know that... It has been my entire Blessing and Privilege to have attempted to guide, mold, teach and hopefully touch/reach your amazing sons and daughters during this past school year, 2016-2017...this particular group of guys and gals has Exceeded my Expectations in ALL Areas and then some and then some more...your children have taught me so very much this year--we are a CLASS FAMILY in Pre-K-Plus...to my Mia, Bobby, Brooksy, Deva, John, William, Messi, Micah, Anna, Amish, Audrey, Finn, Alexa, Raghav, Dylan, Keagan...you have captured n' stolen my heart... I am so so proud of you boys and girls and please, you must just know, how very much your luckiest teacher ever loves each and everyone of you to pieces!
